Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using CompressImage.run ("the Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service in their entirety. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CompressImage.run. If you do not agree with any provision of these terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Service. Your continued use of the Service following any modifications to these terms will constitute your acceptance of such changes.

2. Service Description

CompressImage.run provides a web-based platform that enables users to reduce the file size of digital images while attempting to maintain visual quality. The Service utilizes advanced compression algorithms to optimize JPEG, PNG, and other common image formats. Key features include batch processing, quality adjustment controls, and format conversion options. The Service is offered free of charge to all users without requiring account creation or personal information submission, though we reserve the right to implement premium features or usage limits in the future.

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of our Service, you agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have proper rights to any images you upload for processing
  • Not uploading images containing illegal, harmful, or infringing content including but not limited to child exploitation material, violent extremism, or non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Maintaining reasonable usage volumes that don't disrupt service availability for other users (excessive use may be throttled or blocked)
  • Not reverse-engineering, decompiling, or otherwise attempting to extract the source code of our Service
  • Not using automated systems (bots, scripts, etc.) to interact with our Service except through officially provided APIs

4. Image Handling and Privacy Policy

All images uploaded to our Service are processed in temporary memory and automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of processing completion. During this window, files may be stored in encrypted form on our content delivery network to enable efficient distribution. While we implement industry-standard security measures, we cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access and therefore recommend against uploading sensitive or confidential images.

Metadata (EXIF data, GPS coordinates, etc.) may be stripped from images during processing at our discretion. We do not analyze image content for advertising purposes or share uploaded images with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., cloud infrastructure providers).

5. Account-Free Operation

The Service is designed to operate without requiring user accounts. However, certain usage patterns may trigger temporary IP-based restrictions to prevent abuse. We do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information, but standard web server logs (including IP addresses) may be retained for up to 30 days for security and analytics purposes.

6. Service Quality and Limitations

While we strive to maintain high availability and consistent compression results, the Service is provided on an "as available" basis. Technical issues, maintenance requirements, or unexpected demand may result in temporary unavailability or degraded performance. We do not guarantee specific compression ratios or quality metrics as these depend on input image characteristics.

Maximum file size limits may apply (currently 25MB per image). The Service may reject or fail to properly process certain image formats, extremely high-resolution files, or corrupted image files. These technical limitations are subject to change without notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompressImage.run and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the Service

In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100.00).

8. Intellectual Property Rights

You retain all ownership rights to images you upload. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display, and distribute such content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. This license terminates when you delete the content or we complete processing, except as necessary for backup and archival purposes.

All CompressImage.run trademarks, service marks, logos, trade names, and other proprietary identifiers used in connection with the Service are our exclusive property. Other trademarks appearing on the Service are the property of their respective owners.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice through our website or via email (if available) at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you must stop using the Service.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

Before filing any claim, you agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting us at contact@compressimage.run. Both parties agree to negotiate in good faith for at least 30 days before initiating formal proceedings.

11. Miscellaneous Provisions

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and CompressImage.run regarding the Service. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
